Dermal fillers are a soft injectable gel. Dermal fillers have evolved over time and today most of what we use is hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a substance that naturally exists in your body, therefore is metabolised by your body over a period of time, usually around 1 year. This depends on the person and the filler used. Thicker fillers such as those chosen to restore cheeks and chins last longer than thinner fillers used to treat fine lines and wrinkles closer to the skins surface.
Dermal fillers are used to improve skin quality, fill fine lines and wrinkles, restore lost volume that you naturally lose with age. Dermal fillers can also be used to enhance features such as your lips, chin, cheeks to balance your profile and give you a more desirable appearance.
Depending on your treatment there’s little down time required. Although you may get some bruising so if you want to keep your treatments discreet a week of downtime could be helpful.
Treatment is surprisingly comfortable with the use of topical aesthetics, although lips can be a little bit more nippy!
